The Office for Students (OfS) wants your views  – Respond by 18 July 2025

The Office for Students (OfS) has launched a national Call for Evidence on proposed changes to how outreach and progression support is delivered across England. These changes include plans to replace the Uni Connect programme with a new structure of Regional Access Partnerships from September 2026. Under the suggested proposals, Cumbria would be combined with Lancashire as part of a new regional partnership.

Why This Matters for Cumbria

Hello Future currently leads Higher Education progression efforts across Cumbria through the Uni Connect programme. The proposed changes could significantly reshape how this work is planned, funded, and delivered in the future.

This consultation is a valuable opportunity for schools, colleges, universities, employers, and community organisations to influence national policy and ensure that Cumbria’s distinctive context, challenges, and opportunities are fully considered in the development of new progression support models.
