Learners will be introduced to the idea of studying at higher education and learn the differences between a seminar and lecture. Learners will have a look at an example timetable showing contact hours and we will share the top tips for successfully learning at university. 

In this workshop, learners will explore their different pathways into Higher Education and what career opportunities they could lead to. Learners will be asked to reflect on what skills they have and how they link to academic and career ambitions. Learners will begin to think about their own options and how to research their best routes, for example, comparing courses or location. The session will be rounded off with a how to apply to university or higher-level apprenticeships.

In this workshop, learners will have the opportunity to challenge preconceived ideas regarding higher education. Learners will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of all things Higher Education including apprenticeships, UCAS, Student Finance and entry requirements.

In this workshop students will learn how to market themselves. Learners will be guided through how to effectively sell themselves on their CVs and application forms. Students will also be guided through the advantages and disadvantages of their online presence. 

Learners will explore the variety of career and higher education possibilities that their chosen subjects open up. Learners will have the opportunity to explore some university courses, HE apprenticeship opportunities and long-term careers that are possible with their chosen careers. 

In this workshop, learners will find out about interviews, including the different formats they take and the different types of questions they might be asked. Students will consider how they can prepare for future interviews and what they need to be aware of during an interview. The workshop also covers the STAR technique and learners are encouraged to practice this technique to some common interview questions. Learners are supported in developing their interview techniques, through participating in practical activities, including a group discussion and a mock interview.
