We will talk about our workshops and activities that are designed to equip learners with knowledge and skills to help them to navigate their post school careers and education choices and to support informed decision making to reach their goals.

provides learners with more information
about different careers and required entry qualifications. It will also encourage students to consider their skills
and interests in the context of their career goals and equip them with more skills and knowledge to research their own goals and access support

Beyond the Classroom: My HE Story
Similar to the KS3 workshop, this session also takes a look at A’ Level (KS5) choices. The session will take the learners through an examples HE journeys and interspersed with key
moments relate to A Levels (KS5) decision-making . The session facilitator will discuss their own reflections on choices made. The session will encourage learners to think about and understand the importance of KS5/ A Levels decision making, should they progress to sixth form (or college?). The session will also tackle myths about higher education and help alleviate reservations about higher education, including concerns about finance and application processes

Myth Busting 2
In this workshop, learners will have the opportunity to challenge preconceived ideas about higher education at an age-appropriate level. Students will begin to challenge some of the myths relating to their future progression into Further Education and Higher Education and have the opportunity to develop their understanding of all things Higher Education including apprenticeships, UCAS, Student Finance and entry requirements.

Preparing for Student Life
Learn Lab
Learn Smarter: Study Skills
In this workshop learners will reflect on their learning environment and behaviours to identify both “good” and “bad” habits they have developed. Students will explore different memory improvement techniques before practicing some study strategies before finally completing a workflow chart to support with their time management.

This workshop guides learners through key decisions they will make when considering which higher education route to take, including; location, courses, living arrangements and financial support. Recent graduates will share their individual experiences of higher education and student life. Learners then get the chance to plan their own journey through HE.
