Introductory Assembly: Hello Future! Your Future, Your Way
This assembly will be delivered by your local Hello Future team to introduce students to the Hello Future team and our programme offer. We will talk about our workshops and activities that are designed to equip learners with knowledge and skills to help them to navigate their post school careers and education choices and to support informed decision making to reach their goals.
Future Selves
Communicating Confidently
Learners will assess their
current skills and are encouraged to further develop essential communication skills. The workshop includes opportunities for learners
to practice and develop communication skills. Through practical activities, learners will be given the opportunity to develop techniques to communicate with increased confidence,
using verbal and non-verbal communication and to express ideas clearly. Learners will also
explore the importance of communication for
future interviews

Your Future
Learners will explore future pathways that align with their passions and subjects of
interest. This practical workshop session aims to motivate learners to consider educational progression by linking personal skills and interests to future career options and raising awareness of available support to help reach goals.

Introduction to Student Life
Hello Future will introduce the exciting concept of independent living and student life to learners. Recent graduates will draw upon
their experiences within HE or training, and shed light on the exciting opportunities available through higher education. The session will cover: budgeting and extracurricular activities. There will also be focus on the benefits of HE in terms of university and
degree apprenticeships.

Learn Lab

Let’s Read
Let’s Read is offered to identified Year 7 or 8 learners, who will work in groups of 6.
Let’s Read is an intensive 6-week reading programme, consisting of 2 weekly sessions,
each lasting approx. 45 minutes. The aim is to support learners to reach their expected reading age. Learners will work through a reading scheme, supported by tailored activities and group discussions to develop comprehension and literacy skills. The programme is delivered by Graduate Interns.

Learn Smart – Learner Identity
Learners will begin to discover their own personal learner identity and explore differences between ‘Growth’ and ‘Fixed’ mindsets, how we can all develop a Growth mindset and the importance of this for learning. Learners will be guided through a self-reflective journey of their own learning, while discovering different techniques that could benefit their learning. Using examples from in and out of school, students will explore, in-depth, personal situations of success and challenge to identify lessons and understanding for the future
