Lesson 1: What it means to be a university student?

What will you cover in this lesson?

We will be looking at the university student stereotype, why this can put many adult and access learners off engaging in the university community, and how this stereotype isn’t true.

What’s the point in covering this?

This should help adult and access learners like yourself see that your university experience is exactly that, YOURS! You are free to go through university and engage in the community in numerous ways, depending on your preferences and what you feel comfortable with.

How will this help you?

Hopefully, this should help you realise that just because you are a student, you do not have to conform to the stereotype often given to students. You may not like this stereotype or not think its for you, that is fine! In turn, this should make engaging in your university community much easier and take the pressure off a bit.
